. 2017/18 WAS FANTASTIC HOWEVER THE

STRUCTURE IS IN PLACE FOR AN EVEN
                                       MORE SUCCESSFUL 2018/19

Watching two youth workers stay late into the night looking for accommodation for a young man who had been bashed and robbed
in a park and who’s visa did not allow him to gain support through standard channels. They finally succeeded through innovation
and perseverance, finding brokerage money for overnight accommodation and ongoing support commencing the next morning.

The other is a longer-term situation, where a mother sat with AYC staff and told us she no longer wanted her teenager at home.
Through the support of the team, this young person who was regularly suspended or truant from school, in trouble with the legal
system, at risk of AOD addiction now has a safe place to live, attends school, is no longer in trouble with the law and has dreams
for the future. I am proud of the work of the team and thank each of you Brownyn, Gokhan, Shafia, Dela, Linda, Milan, Brietta,
Helena and our newly arrived Kate and Fayaz for your passion and commitment. I also thank our wonderful volunteers Anusha, Joel,
Andrew, Louis, Phillipe, Fatima, and Chris for your roles this year.

To our partner organisations thank you for your support. In working together we are making a difference in the community. To our co
tenants the Woodville Alliance, Strong Minds, I thank you for your partnership work and commitment to young people.

AYC continues to move through the process of transition under the Targeted Early Intervention Reforms that aim to bring improved
outcomes for at risk families, youth and children. Thank you to Kristen Vine of FaCS for helping us move through this process. We
thank the NSW Department of Family and Community Services for your ongoing funding of our Centre’s activities and Adolescent
and Family Counsellor program. Thank you to Cumberland Council for your commitment to AYC and upgrading the centre.

To the Board of AYC, led by Marc Hassan, thank you for your support in 2017/18. Your commitment to strong governance, your work
on developing new revenues streams and passion for making positive change in the community leads AYC into the future. Lastly
thank you to our outgoing Treasurer Mannee Chew for her work over the
            last 2 years.

2017/18 was fantastic however the structure is in place for an even more
            successful 2018/19.
